About Morris Haynes Attorneys at Law

In 1991, after more than two decades of successful trial law practice, Larry Morris set out to build a firm around a concentrated core of attorneys with superior trial skills. His goal: To represent the victims of wrongdoing and injury in their claims against the powerful corporations of the world, with an absolute commitment to the highest principles of professionalism and advocacy.

Responding to the ever-broadening scope of their practice, Morris Haynes Attorneys at Law opened a Birmingham office in 2002 – making us one of the very few plaintiff’s firms with multiple locations in the State of Alabama.

Personal Injury Law Firm in Alabama

Morris Haynes Attorneys at Law focuses on claims and cases that result from either catastrophic personal injuries or deaths, such as those that occur in cases relating to trucking accidents, product defects, and defective guns, or unfair business practices that have a catastrophic effect on a business.

Through unwavering devotion to these principles, Morris Haynes Attorneys at Law stands today as a firm recognized throughout the legal community for its courtroom achievements. Moreover, by focusing on larger, more complex litigation matters, we have consciously maintained a case-load that enables us to invest the time, energy, and resources needed to serve each client’s personal interests in holding corporate wrongdoers accountable for their negligence and misdeeds.

Morris Haynes Attorneys at Law is the product of that effort which began more than 20 years ago.

Frequently asked Questions

  • Q:When should you call a lawyer after an accident?

A:From the day the accident occurs, there is a time limit on how long you can wait to file a claim. For most personal injury cases, that time is around two years. It’s a good idea to get an attorney as soon as possible after an accident, because the person responsible for your injury or insurance companies can quickly find ways to undermine your case.

  • Q:What is the Alabama Lemon Law?

A:The Alabama Lemon Law applies to cars that are either or both under one year old and have less than 12,000 miles on them. This law helps protect consumers from the consequences of unknowingly purchasing a defective vehicle. It covers cars, trucks, SUVs, and motor vehicles under 10,000 pounds. To take advantage of this law, the defect must seriously impact safety, value, or use and must be inherent. Dealers or manufacturers may resist replacing your vehicle, so speaking with an attorney is sometimes necessary.

  • Q:What is the main difference between arbitration and mediation?

A:Arbitration and mediation are both ways to handle disputes outside of the courtroom. With arbitration, the arbitrator can independently decide how to resolve the dispute. With mediation, on the other hand, the mediator simply makes suggestions for the parties to take or leave. It’s typically less formal and available on shorter notice.
