10 Sep Jefferson County Alabama Personal Injury Settlement
Jefferson County Circuit Court Settlement of $1,980,000
The plaintiffs were taking a trip on their motorcycle to celebrate their 21st wedding anniversary when the defendants’ van attempted to make a left-hand turn and failed to yield to the plaintiffs, colliding with the left side of their motorcycle. At the time, the van was being used by a group of independent vacuum cleaner salespeople. The plaintiffs suffered multiple catastrophic injuries as a result of the wreck, including the amputation of one of the plaintiff’s legs above the knee. The defendant driver did not have proof of insurance in the van at the time of the incident and was driving with a suspended license, in addition to having an extensive criminal background which was in violation of the defendant corporations’ policies.
