George joins our firm after serving six years as the United States Attorney for the Middle District of Alabama. Before entering federal service Mr. Beck enjoyed a successful civil and criminal law practice. His thirty-seven-million-dollar judgment in favor of an insurance company set a jury verdict record in Montgomery County. Equally pace setting was his twenty-five-million-dollar Federal tort claim award on behalf of children injured by medical negligence. An earlier million-dollar verdict had launched Alabama’s modern-day class action law suits on behalf of consumers.
Mr. Beck spends time defending public officials and other businessmen and women accused of white-collar crimes. He has defended officials from all levels of government, from County Commissioner to the office of Governor. George represents a variety of individuals accused of both violent and non-violent crimes.
Mr. Beck actively practices in State and Federal courts and is admitted to the Fifth and Eleventh Circuit Courts of Appeals, as well as the United States Supreme Court. He is the former Deputy Attorney General for the State of Alabama, and he retired as a Judge Advocate General with the rank of Colonel from the Alabama National Guard’ A graduate of Auburn University and the University of Alabama School of Law, George lives in Tallapoosa County with his wife, Carlotta. Although a native of the Southeast part of Alabama, known as the Wiregrass, George has tried cases all over the State of Alabama, as well as in neighboring states of Georgia and Florida, even venturing into Texas and North Carolina.
