Matthew G. Garmon

Matt Garmon is an associate in the Birmingham office of Morris, Haynes, and is a Cullman County native from Bremen, Alabama. Matt graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and received his Juris Doctor from Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law.


While in law school, Matt was a member of Cumberland’s prestigious Herbert Peterson National Trial Team and was a recipient of the Nat Bryan American Board of Trial Advocacy Award. During this time, Matt competed as an advocate on various teams, including a Cumberland team that won the 15th Annual Michigan State University National Trial Competition Championship. In addition to his experience in trial advocacy, Matt worked as a law clerk throughout law school and gained practical experience managing various facets of both civil and criminal cases. He also served in Cumberland’s legal research and writing program as an Abraham Caruthers Teaching Fellow, was Vice President of Cumberland’s Cordell Hull Speakers Forum, and was on the Executive Board of the Phi Alpha Delta Legal Fraternity.


Matt is admitted to practice in both Alabama and Florida and represents individuals who have been wronged in some way through no fault of their own. Matt litigates cases involving a broad range of matters, including defective products, wrongful death, catastrophic injury.
